A few years ago,
when I was going through the deepest point in my depression-
my living situation was abhorrent1,
I had no car,
no license2
and barely3 enough money to get by.
All of this was because of the choices I made
but I couldnt seem to find my way out.
I was riding the bus home one day from work
when an older woman sat across from me
and struck4 up a conversation.
She asked me
if I took the bus often
and I replied with a yes.
She told me
how she had just lost her job
and that she wouldnt be needing her bus pass anymore
and offered it to me.
This woman had zero knowledge of my current5 situation
and on one of her worst days,
she still found a way to be kind to someone else.
It touched a part of me I had forgotten about
and its an experience that will stay with me forever6.
I think about her sometimes
and hope she is doing well.
